Electro-Thermal Homogenization of HTS Stacks and Roebel Cables for Machine Applications

The models show how to apply homogenization to the electro-thermal analysis of REBCO stacks. The electromagnetic approach is based on Zermeno’s models (model (3)) and coupled to COMSOL’s thermal interface. The model uses temperature-dependent thermal properties, a temperature-dependent critical current density and orthotropic properties for the homogenized stack to reproduce the temperature distribution of the reference model.
